I quickly learned that in order to have the perfect garden, one just needs to come up with a plan and put that plan to action. Mistakes and all, that is how you learn.

But where does one start?

That is a question I get a lot from new gardeners. So I decided to write a blog to document how I start my season in the garden. I hope you enjoy the reading and get some helpful tips.

Each plots is 20 feet by 20 feet. Which is a lot of area to work with. The maximum plot per person is 1 during the sign up season. After this date, vacant plots will open up to current members to prevent unmanaged plots becoming thick with weeds.

I quickly learned how much work it is to maintain even just one plot. I also saw many new members join, get overwhelmed and abandon their plots. So I understand how scary it can be.

Starting in January I seek out garden and seed catalogs in the mail or online.

https://www.rareseeds.com and https://www.seedsavers.org are my two favorites.

So what do you wanna grow?

What kind of veggies do you mostly eat?
What are you excited to try?
Have you ever tried growing herbs?
Is there a certain ethnic food you want to try growing veggies for? Salsa? Chimichurri? A Pesto?

This year I am doing lots of herbs and flowers and random veggies.

Oh and my garlic.....
